As I kept roaming and marvelling here,
\nA stunning secret came to me, brother;
\nView the same secret in your own being:
\nThe Friend is in me, I can see, brother.<\/p>\n
I looked deep into my soul and I saw
\nWhat is truly mine and what is in me,
\nWhat is the spirit inside this body–
\nI learned my true identity, brother.<\/p>\n
I desire him, yet I cannot find Him.
\nWho am I–I wonder if He is me.
\nI can’t see Him outside my entity;
\nI merged into his unity, brother.<\/p>\n
Why do countless roads stretch ahead of me
\nTo lead me astray in uncertainty?
\nI have made the loveliest arrival
\nFor I took this hallowed journey, brother.<\/p>\n
The man who is faithless cannot feel it:
\nOut of the body slithers the spirit.
\nI am the nightingale in love’s garden,
\nFrom there I came to this city, brother.<\/p>\n
Since the start of time I have been Mansur,
\nThat is why I have come to exist here.
\nBurn me, cast my ashes into the air:
\nI have become Allah Almighty, brother.<\/p>\n
I was poor, now mine is Benevolence;
\nMine is the universe, all existence,
\nHeaven and earth, from sunrise to sunset;
\nI have filled the earth and sky, brother.<\/p>\n
Now I have found my own true self in me.
\nIt has happened–I saw Allah Almighty.
\nI had qualms about what might happen then;
